Before you book
Contraindications & medical suitability.
Your safety comes first. Treatment is always assessment-led and may be adapted, postponed or declined when it is not suitable for your body, health or stage of recovery.

Treatment cannot go ahead today if:
- A suspected or recent blood clot (DVT), unless your medical team has confirmed treatment is safe
- Painful, hot or swollen skin, an active infection, cellulitis, fever or an acute illness
- An open wound, unhealed incision, active skin lesion or compromised skin in the treatment area
- Recent surgery without clearance from your surgeon or medical team
- Any new or unexplained swelling, severe pain or symptoms that need medical assessment
Tell us first
Medical clearance may be required.
This does not always mean treatment is impossible. It means NTA needs the full picture before recommending a safe plan.
- Pregnancy, breastfeeding or a possibility that you may be pregnant
- Cancer, or current/recent chemotherapy, radiotherapy or steroid treatment
- Blood-thinning medication, a bleeding disorder or a history of blood clots
- Diabetes, heart or circulation problems, kidney or liver disease, or uncontrolled high blood pressure
- An autoimmune condition, immune suppression, epilepsy or another significant medical condition
- Medication that increases light sensitivity, or a current rash or skin condition
- An implant, IUD/coil, surgical mesh, metal, tattoo, scar or previous surgery in the treatment area
Technology checks
Some devices need extra screening.
The exact device, treatment area and manufacturer guidance will be checked during your consultation.
Radio frequency
Not suitable over a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator or metal beneath the skin in the treatment area. Tell us about an IUD/coil, mesh, implants, tattoos or previous surgery before booking.
Ultrasound or cavitation
Not suitable over open wounds, lesions or compromised skin, an active implanted device, or metal beneath the skin in the treatment area.
LED or light-based support
Tell us about pregnancy, light sensitivity, photosensitising medication, an active infection or wound, a pacemaker/defibrillator, or skin cancer or a history of skin cancer in the treatment area.
Trusted information
Safety guidance is informed by the NHS and official device information.
